Finca al-manzil - the project

- Al-manzil in arabic means...a stopping place on a journey...not a caravansarai which was more an urban stay but a rural camp between settlements. This seemed an appropriate name for our finca in the Sierra de Montanchez, an ancient Moorish stronghold. The situation of the finca is actually on the original route up to the castle of Montanchez, now a delightful footpath. May well have been a stopping place especially with the generous springs for thirsty pack trains of mules and donkeys resting before the winding way up to the castle.
